let’s have a moment

It’s a Valentine’s Day breakup. It’s not you. It’s me. I’ve been a neglectful, virtual boyfriend. I’ve procrastinated long enough. So let’s make it official. As I think to myself: “Oh VJ, it’s time to say farewell to the ‘netcast’.” Let’s just call it over — or if you like, let’s have a moment as we  listen to a song together. ‘Girls Chase Boys’ by Ingrid Michaelson has been my latest song obsession for the past few days. It has been looping between my ears. It’s been the thump to my beating organ. For as of yet, it’s another year without a Valentine love to call my own and I’m ready to move on to the next chance per chase…

“…I’m a little let down, but I’m not dead
There’s a little bit more that has to be said
Oh oooh
You play me, now I play you, too
Let’s just call it over

All the broken hearts in the world still beat
Let’s not make it harder than it has to be
Oooooh its all the same thing
Girls chase boys chase girls (x2)
Chase girls chase boys chase boys chase girls

I’m a little bit home, but I’m not there yet
It’s one to forgive but its hard to forget
Don’t call me, I won’t call you, too
Let’s just call it over…”
