“New York City’s Drag March (the little march that could, bitch…) began 15 years ago in response to the attempts of the Stonewall 25 organizing group’s attempts to downplay Drag. It has continued to this day each year on the Friday before Pride Sunday!
The March starts at Tompkins Square Park in the East Village, gathering at 7PM at the Saint Mark’s Place/8th street entrance to the park, stepping off just before sunset, ending in the West Village in front of the Stonewall Inn Bar.
Though listed as a rally, it is a march, but the cause is to queer things up a bit, cast a circle, play the drums and show off your fun.
It’s the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots – the “Ruby” anniversary! Time to put on your slippers and go a marching!
And PLEASE – This event is open, so feel free to invite everyone and all whether on this here facebook or in their face (with amazing grace…)”
